The Common Thread
A question came to mind while reading the other night, one of which, God
used to show me something, I never really stopped to think about. it I’m
sure there are those who have, but for those who haven’t and just as a
refresher to the rest of us, I feel led to share.

Let me begin with the question asked, it was as follows: What
denomination was Jesus Christ? Not nationality, but denomination. Many
times we meet someone a fellow Christian and always ask, what Church do
you go to or what denomination are you, don’t we? In hopes of expanding
the understanding of the “ Body “ of Christ, I want to look at this from
the Biblical standpoint. The word of God says” There is one Faith, one
Lord and one Baptism. There is no reference made to “denomination”( to
my knowledge )

It references the “Church” the “ Body” of Christ. So, the answer to the
initial question becomes quite apparent, he was not of any denomination.
All who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives is part of
the “ Church”. Denominations came into play due to some within the body
that had disagreement in some area of doctrine. Fact is, regardless, the
word is quite clear, it tells us that ALL scripture is inspired of God
and beneficial for teaching…… ( paraphrased) so why is there a
disagreement, if it is in the word of Almighty God then who are we to
decide to ignore certain parts. We should ALL be one, in unity with God
and HIS word not opinions or traditions of men. The title to this
message that the Lord gave me sums it all up, JESUS as our Lord and
savior IS our common thread, that which holds and binds us all together.
When the term ALL was used in that scripture, it nullifies our trying
to pick and choose or least it should. When Jesus prayed for us his
biggest concern was for unity of the body. The term “church” has been
taken and made to imply a building, no, it is not any building! All who
are washed in blood, all who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior are
“ the Church” the “ Body of Christ ). Due to this attitude of the “church”
there are many walking wounded, which should not be. We should except
with open arms all who are a part of the family of God, whether they
speak with other tongues or not ( for example) no one has too, yet at
the same time is it not to forbidden either, but we see it all the time.
This is so sad. What if one had a word to share with the body, and went
to a particular denomination, them however being of a different one,
would they be allowed to share their heart? Or would they have to
justify that their “doctrine” is acceptable to you? My question to you
is” Is it acceptable to God? There is only one Doctrine and that’s the
doctrine of Jesus Christ, we will not answer to men we will ALL answer
to God. Brethren, if we each one had every one of the 9 gifts listed in
the word and not have “Love” for each other, they are of no use to us or
anyone else. Please, lets bring down all the walls that separate us and
move toward unity with each other, as Christ so wanted for us. I pray
that the Spirit of God will touch each and every heart to hear what the
Spirit of God is saying,” Drop these useless differences, stop wounding
each other, Stand Up and Unify In Christ” In Jesus Name.
