A Few Things About Love

The Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love (2 John 1:3). We
walk in truth that Jesus is the Son of God. For Jesus is the truth.
Jesus is with us in love, for Jesus is love. The statement that we
should love one another is a New Testament theme. Love for your neighbor
is an Old Testament law. We can show love is many ways; by accepting
people, by listening, helping, giving, serving and not judging. Knowing
what God wants us to do is not enough; we have to put it into practice.
Not only do we talk the talk but we walk the walk.
Keep on loving each other as brothers (Hebrews13.1). Real love for
others produces touching actions, kindness to strangers, feelings for
those who have been mistreated, respect for your marriage vows and
contentment with what you have. Make sure that your love runs deep
enough to affect how you see others, learn to see others the way God
does and you will be satisfied with what your have.
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should
be called Children of God: and that is what we are (1 John 3:1).Our self
– worth is based on the fact that God loves us and calls us his
Children. Being a Child of God should make us want to live as Jesus did.
By following Jesus we become reflections of God. We gain victory over
our sins, we love others, and we grow in our faith. Does some of these
things seem a little hard to do, Jesus doesn’t say it world be easy, He
just said it world be worth it
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:8).
John says, “God is love” not “love is God” it seems sometimes that the
world with its shallow and selfish view of love, has turned these words
around and messed up our understanding of love. The world thinks that
love is what makes a person feel good and that it is all right to give
up moral principles and others rights in order to obtain such “love.”
But that’s not real love, it is the exact opposite – selfishness and God
is not that kind of “Love”. Real love is like God, it is holy, just,
and perfect so the more we know God, the more we will love as he does.
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; Cling to what is good (Romans
12:9). Most of us have learned how to act like we love others; we’ll
talk real nice, not say things to hurt their feelings, and appear to
take an interest in them. God calls us to real and sincere love that
goes far beyond pretense and good manners. Sincere love requires a lot
of effort. It means helping people become better people; it demands our
time, money and personal involvement. Look for people who need your love,
and look for ways you can love people for Jesus.
All of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as
brothers, be compassionate and humble (1 Peter 3:8). To serve God
effectively Peter has laid out five things in this verse. Harmony –
seeking the same goals , sympathy – being responsive to others needs ,
love – seeing and treating each other as brothers and sisters ,
compassion – being affectionately sensitive and caring , humility – be
willing to encourage one another and rejoice in each others successes .
Let you gentleness be evident to all (Philippians 4:5).Our gentleness
means being reasonable, fair minded, and show love to those outside the
church and not just too fellow believers. This means we can’t try to
take revenge against those who are ugly to us, nor are we to be overly
vocal on personal rights.
You can all ways tell where peoples heart is, just listen to them,
is what they tell you more about what God is doing in their life or more
about politics, hunting and fishing, or all the things they have. I
like getting e-mails that is about your love for people, prayer for
someone, and I love to hear what people are doing in spreading the
Gospel. Is most of what your telling people about, a political point of
few and less of what Jesus is about. Let what you say promote love,
peace and joy.

Play pretty and love one another
