Teresa Boyd
Hi, my name is Teresa Boyd, I am 41 years old and I love the Lord!! I never was much of a "church-goer" and we were far from practicing christians growong up, but my Mother told us about God and Jesus and I've always believed in Them. I can't read and write that well and have never been able to read the bible the way I would like. I married my husband, Jesse, in 1983. We both grew up without much and we've had some hard times but our love always brings us through. We had three miscarriages but after eight years we had our wonderful son, Nathan. Two years later our beautiful daughter, Tessa, was born. My husband and I both were Saved in 1995 and have tried to live for Him since, even when we weren't acknowledging Him the way we should, we know that God was always there for us. I've had several different medical situations ranging from kidney stones to back surgeries (2). But the scariest on came last Dec. 2003, when I was told that I had a rare brain tumor and needed immediate surgery. I was really scared at first because my Mother had died from a brain tumor, but after a few hours I accepted it and put it in God's hands. I admit, when I was at the hospital, I started getting scared again, but I prayed to God, I said "Lord I've heard stories of people strongly feeling your presence at certain times , I've never had that experienceand I pray now that if it is Your will for me to make it through this OK that you will let me "feel" you to know that you are here with me. If it is not Your will, then I am ready to come home to you and I just ask that you will be with my family and let them know that I am with you". After I prayed, I felt a warm and loving feeling all through my body and I knew it was God, I was going to be OK and I was no longer afraid. The Dr. that performed the surgery told me that it was very rare and the last time he had done this type of surgery was over five years ago and there were alot of serious risks involved. I told him that I wasn't worried because I knew that God would guide his hands, and He did. I made it through with no major complications. They were so amazed at my recovery, they would bring other doctorsin to seehow well I was doing, and you better believe I took every opportunity to tell them that it was all thanks to God and my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!! It was also good to know that so many people were praying for me. I would like to thank Punkin, SBR, and all the Highways and Hedges brothers and sisters for your prayers. God does listen and He does answer. God Bless you all and keep you safely in His arms. Teresa Boyd |
